Clayton County police were investigating the shooting of a man found dead inside a Riverdale hotel room, on Thursday.
According to Clayton County Police public information officer, Sgt. Otis Willis, officers responded, Wednesday night, to reports of a shooting at the Econo lodge Hotel, located on Upper Riverdale Road, in Riverdale.
The body of the deceased victim was found.
"The male succumbed to injures from a firearm," said Willis. The victim had mulitple gunshot wounds, he added.
According to Willis, the victim, whose name was not released Thursday, was located on the second floor of the hotel.
"He was laying on his chest, on the floor of the motel room," said Willis.
He added that authorities were investigating the motive for the shooting. Willis declined to say, on Thursday, if police have suspects in the slaying.
"We have leads ... we are working on them," he said. "We are still putting everything together..."
