It's going to be busy weekend for Jonesboro coach Dan Maehlman.
Saturday morning, he will coach the school's junior varsity baseball team. Saturday evening, he will be involved in something a little bigger, coaching the boys varsity basketball team in its first round game against Greenbrier.
Friday night, he coached the varsity baseball team to a season-opening 17-2 victory at Henry County in a non-region game.
Lovejoy 7, Dutchtown 6
The Lovejoy Wildcats moved to 3-0 on Friday night with a 7-6 victory against Dutchtown.
Courtney Ward pitched a complete game for the Wildcats and also went 3-for-3 at the plate.
Dutchtown was paced by Zach Babischkin and Sam Kim's two RBIs.
