Citi Trends has opened its fourth location in Clayton County.
The new location for the family apparel retailer is at Pointe South Shopping Center, at 8494 Highway 85, Jonesboro, said Bruce Smith, Chief Financial Officer for Citi Trends, Inc. The store is open Mondays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m., to 8 p.m., and Sundays, from noon, to 6 p.m.
"Probably, the biggest thing is, we are a national retailer that provides...[an] off-price format," said Smith. He said items sold at Citi Trends, are 30, to 70 percent below department store pricing. The majority of the items on sale are clothing for men, women, children and infants. The retailer also sells accessories, he said.
The 10,700 square-foot retail store opened in Jonesboro, on Nov. 18, 2010, said Smith. Other Citi Trends stores in the county are located in Forest Park, Morrow and Stockbridge.
Smith said Jonesboro is Citi Trends' newest location in Georgia. Jonesboro was chosen, he said, because a demographic study revealed the community had enough "buying power," to support the retailer. Smith said some of Citi Trends' competitors include T.J. Maxx, Ross Dress For Less, and Cato.
He said he could not share how much was invested in the new location.
"We are a retailer that has 460 stores in 27 different states," said the chief financial officer. Other states with Citi Trends locations include Texas, Florida, and South Carolina.
