Guy M. Hayes Mr. Guy M. Hayes, age 66, of Jackson, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Zachary Hayes, Sr., and brother, Zachary Hayes, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Hayes, of Jackson; mother, Hazel Hayes; sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Holly Hayes, Scott and Michelle Hayes; grandchildren, Bailey and Mayson Hayes, Brittany and Tyler Gaynes, all of Covington; nephews, Harrison and Blair Hayes, of Atlanta. Mr. Hayes was a member of Stark United Methodist Church in Jackson. He was a resident of Conyers from 1972 until 1996, and was active in youth sports in the 1970s and 1980s. He was president of the Rockdale County High School Touchdown Club in 1983. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 23 at 1:30 p.m., at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel with Pastor Frank Brock and Dr. Tom Drake officiating. Interment was at Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Stark United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1097 Halls Bridge Road, Jackson, Ga., 30233.
