Dixon, James E. Sr. Age: 79
Passed Away: 2011-01-21 Funeral Home: Mr. James E. Dixon, Sr., 79, of Griffin (a former Clayton County resident of 40 years) passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillie Dixon. He is survived by his wife, Irene M. Dixon; son and daughter-in-law, James E. “Eddie,” Jr., and Christine Dixon, of Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Terry Willerson, of Locust Grove, and daughter, Andrea Dixon, of Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Milton W. and Betty Dixon, of Kinston, N.C.; grandchildren and spouses, Debra and Christopher Couch, Lee and Laura Dixon, and Ashley Moon; great-grandchildren, Nickol, Hunter, Tyler, Noah and Grace. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, in the Ford-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Irvin Pearre officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
