Scharlene Annette “Charly” Peterson, 26, of McDonough, passed away Jan. 21, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident. She was born in Dekalb County. She attended Ola Elementary School in Henry County, and attended Henry County High School for three years, and graduated from Faith Academy. Charly was a stay-at-home mom taking care of her 2-year-old son, Jacob Chase. She loved to cook, and took the most pleasure in taking care of her son. Charly lived in Ola all of her life. She is survived by her son, Jacob Chase; fiance’, Eric Chase; parents, Scharlotte and Dennis Peterson; sisters, Angela Buttimer, and Denise Faith; and a brother, Reggie Riddle; nieces and nephews, Christian, Savannah, Lana, Hannah and Oliver. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral home. Dennis Buttimer, Rev. M. J. Briggs and Rev. Marilyn Odom will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 2 p.m., to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity, “My Sisters House” in Atlanta, in the name of Scharlene Annette Peterson.
