Mr. Joel “Billy” William Pope, Jr., of Jennings Street, entered into rest Jan. 23, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Ferrell will officiate the service. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m., in the Fain Cemetery in Calhoun, Ga. Rev. Eddie Brannon will officiate that service. Mr. Pope was born in Atlanta, and was the son of the late Joel William Pope, Sr., and the late Cynthia Elizabeth Fanning Pope. He lived in Chamblee for many years, and retired from General Motors Doraville Plant as a Parts Clerk. He lived in Adairsville, Ga., before moving to Crawfordville in 2002. He was a member of Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in Tucker. Survivors include his daughter, Ketra Pope, of Crawfordville, Ga.; brother, James Pope; sister, Nelle Marie Anderson, both of Eatonton, Ga. ; grandchildren, Savanna Christine Sparks, Sandi Ellen Skye Sparks; companion, Gladys Thaxton, of Crawfordville, Ga.
