The Holy Bible says, in Genesis 1:1: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." And in verse 25b, "And God saw that it was good."
It was perfect in every way, for God does not make any mistakes.
In Chapter 2 of Genesis is the account of God creating Adam and Eve. He made a garden for them to live in, and take care of, and He named it Eden, which is synonymous with the name Paradise.
It was a perfect place, with all sorts of trees bearing food for Adam and Eve to eat. There was a river with perfectly clean and pure water for them to drink. The soil there must have been rich and fertile, and would be easy to plow or dig up, to prepare for planting more trees and vegetables.
Adam and Eve and all the animals, and other life, were evidently vegetarians until they were expelled from the garden.
Satan and sin entered Adam and Eve, and God not only banished them from the Garden, but changed the world to have all sorts of undesirable briars and weeds, and animals and insects that would harm Adam and Eve and all mankind after them.
Evidently, there was no pain in childbirth, or pain and sickness of any kind while they were in the garden, and under the care of almighty God. However, sin spoiled this paradise for every living creature from that day until now.
Now, the world is a fallen place with all sorts of dangers, sickness and death. Not only that, but man abuses the earth and pollutes the water and the air. He kills both animals and his brothers alike, and is destroying our world with his wasteful living.
Mankind is in rebellion against God and filled with sin and the Devil, and he is bent on ignoring his Creator. He insists on living a sinful life —just the way he wants to live, and not heeding the instructions of God found in the Bible. He thinks there is no God, no heaven or hell, and no punishment for his sinful living.
But he is greatly mistaken, for there is a God!
The Bible has instructions for righteous living, and happy is the man who heeds the teachings of his Maker. Christians living in our country today are faced with all kinds of problems of our fallen world, but we are different from all the unsaved people as described above.
The big difference is our belief in Jesus Christ and the counsel and instructions of the Holy Spirit, who lives in our hearts. We all have the command of Christ, to witness to as many lost people as possible, and pray they will believe in Him and be saved.
As you read in Genesis Chapter 1 about the garden of Eden or Paradise, and the wonderful life that Adam and Eve had for a short time, I want you to also read Revelation, Chapters 21 and 22, which tell about a new heaven and a new Jerusalem. Coming down from above in great glory and beauty.
This is the time when Jesus Christ comes again in all power, and to rule the earth for ever and ever! We Christians missed getting to be a part of God's perfect world in the beginning, and we also missed getting to live at the time when Jesus came the first time, but one day we will be a part of this new Eden, and be blessed being in the presence of Jesus Christ as He comes the second time.
We will be with Him and all our loved ones in Paradise forever! What a blessing!
Because of the existence of our God and the reality of Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice of His Holy life to ransom mankind, it is not only possible for all of us who believe and trust in Him to be saved from death and destruction in hell, but to be saved for a wonderful life in Heaven. This is the truth of Jesus Christ. To be a part of these glorious days, all we have to do is put our trust and belief in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior and Lord.
I pray that every person who reads this article will believe in Jesus, and will tell others what He has done for you.
