* Remembering a Legend

you are so right!!..so many times I am reminded of Coach Sellars when I'm on the field..and it all carry's over to life...it just took some longer to realize it..

* Gravelle, Jerry Lee

Heard today about Mr. Gravelle accident and death, and was saddened to hear this. I had only met Mr. & Mrs. Gravelle one two occassions, once just after the moved here from Calif and once at the Neighborhood Watch meeting at my home. My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Gravelle, and all the family.

* Remembering a Legend

Thank you for a nice tribute story to a great football coach. He will be missed and always remembered by all he has coached.

* School system announces make-up days

Lord knows we wouldn't want to miss any days of teaching to the tests....Thanks Henry County Board of Education!!! NOT

* School system announces make-up days

That is not the only way to make up the time. They could lengthen the school day to make up the time. But if you do that they may save some money and if they show they can save some money by doing this people will start to question why can't they do this every year. They could start school after labor day or go to a 4 day school week. Wow imagine saving the tax payers of this county money, whoever heard of such a thing?

* Lovejoy High PTSA to hold 'Prom Fair'

Spread the word....Clayton County is holding the First Prom Fair!!!!!!!!!

* BOC ousts Alita Knox from housing authority

I f a citizen blew the whistle on the commissioner, what could the BOC do to punish the citizen? Would the BOC vote to ban the citizen from the county? Or would they force their employer to fire them?

* BOC ousts Alita Knox from housing authority

The entire Clayton County Board of Commissioner needs to be dethrowned immediately. The B.O.C feels threatened when they can't turn the switch in your back off.

* CSU faculty,staff, students, seeking change

Clayton State University does need change and alot of it. Hopefully the President Tim Hynes would make it mandatory and make sure that all his faculty receives the required skills to academically advise students appropriatly and accordingly.

* Jones, Walter S.

Mr. J was a wonderful man to me. I met him as a child when he moved in across the street from my family. He taught us kids so much about life,art and the woods. I will always be grateful to him. I will be praying for Evelyn and Tracy daily, that God gives you the strentgh to carry onward. I will also lift up prayers for Tami and Allen daliy. May god Bless you all and know that Mr. J. loved each and every one of you dearly. I will keep his woods safe for all the animals he enjoyed. It has been a blessing knowing each and every one of you.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Where is the media for this case? We got to see them destroy Troy West life...why not hers? What a joke.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Now this will not make front page NOR will the NEWS STREAM IT over and OVER like they did West... West was wrong for laying hands on a "HUMAN" but this out cry has been going on long enough... we cant say the "N" word but at the Walmart in Stockbridge Blacks GREET Each other from across the store with " Whats Up My "N".... reverse roles and we sit and take it... why cause if we disagree we are racist if we dont like the president or government we are racist and if we use the "N" word we are ???? Lord Help us ALL !!!

* BOC ousts Alita Knox from housing authority

An after thought: someone has Dorothy Morris in their "pocket".

* BOC ousts Alita Knox from housing authority

Alita Knox was terminated for asking the right question--Clayton County officials do not like honesty.Gail Hambrick's answer ( paid the money with cash ) doesn't hold water with the truth!!

* Authorities investigating homicide case

Ashley will always be remembered. Anyone who had the pleasure of his friendship can attest to the lightheartd humor that made him who he was, and kept a smile on all our faces to cherish always.

* 'Drumline' cadence writers motivate young musicians

I THINK THAT IS AN AWSOME THING THAT THE BROTHER ARE DOING. GOD BLESS THEM AND NOW THEY ARE PAYING IT FOREWARD IN THE COMMUNITY.WITH THERE PATIENCE TO TEACH KIDS OF THOSE AGES IS GREAT. MY SON IS IN THERE CLASS AND HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO CARRY A BEAT MORE LESS HOW TO HOLD THE STICK RIGHT KNOW HE CAN HOLD THE STICKS AND CARRY A BEAT

* BOC ousts Alita Knox from housing authority

This is what Clayton County leader ship does. If they do not like someone who challenge anything they say, they get rid of them. This is another case of it and need to stop.

* County evaluates its winter storm response

County response? HAHA, there was none! How come Butts county plowed every single road (including backroads) and Henry cant clean ONE! Not 1 single road!

* Jackson basketball teams lose to Henry Co.

The Warhawks only REGION loss came at the hands of Stockbridge by the score of 73-62......The ELHS game was a non-region X-mas tourney thus not counting in region standings...do your research.

* Schools' finance officer expects more cuts

This is so sad. We have so many teachers that are under paid, and that take money out of their pockets to provide an education for our children, you would think we could some where else to cut money from. This children are tomorrow's leaders and without the proper education, how are they going to handle day to day issues. I know Henry Co is not the only county having this issue. I know this comes from the lack of responsiblity from the State Government. I think we as a state and a county need to look else where and quit taking money out of the school and the teachers. We have some of the best teachers, who love their jobs, and do an awesome job. We need to show our appreciation.

* Morrow leaders: 'City development will be data-driven'

Anyone could have seen the Olde Town Morrow fiasco from a mile away. Not to mention the millions spent on a conference center that sits empty. Hope the tax payers in Morrow are ready to carry the load of these investments. I applaud Morrow for taking a new direction, I wish it was done before millions were spent.

* McCurry, Harvey J.

Harvey touched many people's lives.. All around the world..He will certainly be missed by his family and friends.. Go rest high on the "mountain" we shall be with you soon !! Love Sonya

* Woman dies in early-morning collision

Was you in the vehicle with her? How do you know WHAT she was doing? Apparently she was not paying attention. If the truck was going south, and done the U-turn apparently the truck was already in the north direction. I would think the driver never seen any lights otherwise he would have wanted. If that is the case. SPEED is a factor, or she was distracted by some means. It is amazing to me that someone could not see something so large.

* Morrow leaders: 'City development will be data-driven'

It's nice to know that at least Morrow is trying to better the City. What is being done to better the county as a whole. Don't hear much if anything about that.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Now wheres the race card. Surely she wants to point the finger and say that she did not cause any of the problem. I truly believe she spat in that guys face at the Resturant and that she provoked the problem. I hope that she is punished for the crime and if not, she will one day speak out of line to the wrong person that may take devastateing action than she has ever seen.

* Trammell, Herman Clayton

Herman was my brothers best friend when I was growing up. I remember what a kind person he was and how much my brother liked him. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time. I know my brother Jerry Smith will be very sad when he receives this very sad news.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Clayton County NAACP Branch is a joke they can't address a self-stamped envelope. Yet alone address issues in the community. Good luck on that :P

* Chapman, Frank

Our prayers and sympathy are with the family, may the Lord be with you in this sad time of your life.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Well in my opinion if she spit on this man then she deserve to be hit. Spitting is the nastiest thing you can do to somebody. I would have hit her whether she was purple, red, or blue. Skin color would not have mattered to me at that point.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Cracker Barrel and Morrow need to ban HILL!

* Henry Medical Center's first born of 2011

Congratulations Kadreka & Nakia!! I just went back to work yesterday and found out about Miss Zorah's arrival! What a special blessing on a special day for you and your entire family!!!

* Goggans, Keith L.

LaWanda, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

She needs to be disciplined by the Army Reserves as well.

* Woman dies in early-morning collision

Shame of everyone that keeps blaming Crystal for this. She lost her life all because a truck driver made a stupid decision! She was not on the phone and was in no way at fault. And shame on Henry Herald for posting some of these comments. Her family read this and all it does is re-injure an open wound. After reading some of these post, I honestly believe that some people have NO heart!!!

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

A travesty??? And an attack on black women??? I guess you think it's ok for anyone to use ocsene language around children??? Or is it ok only for black women? If she were white you'd be saying "through her in jail".

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Why does this not surprise me? Like they say, "You can take a thug outta the hood, but you can't take the hood out of a thug." Just another loud mouth that likes to be right in the middle of trouble.

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

Mom always said what goes around comes around. I have tried to teach my children before you start pointing a finger remember the three pointing back at you

* Icy conditions still plague region

I quess Mr. DOT will be prepared when the weatherpersons get it right...how many times do the predictions change with them? You are in the South where North normal winter conditions due not apply

* Tasha Hill facing charges of her own

The Clayton County NAACP, LOL that branch is a joke within it's self. The question is where is Vincent Ford and Derrick Boazman?

* Clayton Schools closed for 4th consecutive day

First you apparently have not been in some of the Clayton County schools and second some work has to be done without students present

* Schools frozen out of 'emergency days'

What about those who have made vacation plans for those days in February? From past years are bad weather can still come through April what do we do then? Maybe using the ED money like the teachers wanted so bad and pushed hard to get should have looked at the bigger picture and stay thankful we have jobs

* Rape, Harold H.

To the family of Harold, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Nita, Craig, Carey & Cheryl Spraggins

* Rape, Harold H.

* City-county talks sought on adult entertainment

I am a resident of this great City and live close to the prospective area where one of these businesses may open and I am appalled. We the citizens do not want this type of establishment next door to our homes, churches, and other respected business in our community. I strongly advise our elected officials to represent the concerns of their constituents. As a father, member of the Clergy and a citizen of this community I will not stand by and let this issue go by unchecked.
