Pauline Harrell Hewlett Services for Pauline Harrell Hewlett, 87, of Douglasville, Ga., are at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Cairo Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Allen Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, Ga. Mrs. Hewlett passed away on Sunday, July 3, in Wellstar Douglas Hospital, Douglasville. Pallbearers will be Bill Champion, Scott Dowes, Thomas Coleman, Don Chandler, Gary Monroe and Jonathan Hartsfield. Mrs. Hewlett was born on Oct. 18, 1923, in Cairo, Ga., to the late John Arthur Harrell and Mattie Coleman Harrell. On Aug. 4, 1957, she married John Hewlett, who preceded her in death. She was a keypunch operator in civil service. She was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Joy Club and the Women of the Church at the Riverdale Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling and photography, especially her cross-country travels to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Survivors include daughter, Peggy Cash (niece), of Stockbridge; son, Mike Collins (nephew), of Douglasville; grandchildren, Kristie Cash (grand niece), of Stockbridge; great-grandchildren (great-grand niece), Ryan Cash, of Stockbridge; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Lois and Buddy Clark ,of Cairo, Ga., and Jim Hartsfield, of Cairo, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters, Mary H. Fouche, Sara H. Champion, Margaret H. Gowan, Martha John H. Hartsfield, Mary Lou H. Crawford and Sue H. Collins..
