Crowe, Elizabeth Cooke

Elizabeth Cooke Crowe, 83, of Stockbridge, died Sunday, July 10, 2011. Elizabeth was born in Hapeville, Ga., and attended West Fulton High School, followed by Draughn’s Business School, in Atlanta. She married the late Hugh Lee Crowe in 1948. She lived in the Atlanta area except for a brief time in Davenport, Iowa for Hugh’s schooling, and the Boston area when Hugh was in the Navy. The couple settled in College Park, then lived in Peachtree City, Riverdale, and Stockbridge, and had a vacation home on St. Simon’s Island. A homemaker, she also worked at her husband’s chiropractic office off and on for most of their 58-year marriage, and worked briefly as a professional interior designer. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Hal S. Crowe, Sr. (Pihsiou), son and daughter-in-law Dr. and Mrs. Keith H. Crowe (Lorna); daughter Ms. Lee Crowe and a nephew Mr. Steve Benson; five grandchildren and a great-grandson. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 16, at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Associate Pastor Thom Miller officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1 p.m., to 2 p.m., the funeral home. McDuffie, Linda

Linda McDuffie Linda McDuffie passed away July 10, 2011. She was a long-time member of Kiwanis Club and the Forest Park First Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at Forest Park First Baptist Church, Thursday, July 14, at 11a.m. Dr. Reed Crumbliss will officiate. Survivors include her husband, Mac McDuffie, of Lake City; daughters, Dianne Tillman-Mendez and Homero, of Griffin, Lisa Tillman, of McDonough; sister, Patty Gardner, of Jonesboro; brother, Benny Goddard, of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Johnny and Destiny Wyatt, Melissa and Michael McDowell; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Wyatt and Angel McDowell; several nieces and nephews. Roegner, Beverly T.

Beverly T. Roegner, 77, of McDonough, Ga., died Sunday, July 10, 2011. She was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late John Beverly and Zipporah Mae Turpin. Mrs. Roegner was an active member of McDonough Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years at Ft. McPherson and J.C. Penney. She was a past officer of the American Legion Post 55 Auxiliary. Mrs. Roegner is survived by her husband, David Lee Roegner; granddaughter, Jill Tatum; great-grandson, Michael Tatum; son-in-law, Bennie Croy; nieces, Toni Turpin Porter, Billie Carol Turpin, Bonnie Prince, Suzanne Wood; nephews, Tommy Turpin, Bill Wood; sisters-in-law, Linda Waggoner, Wilma Wood, Tricia Roegner; brothers-in-law, Richard Roegner, John Wood; and many close friends. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, at 2 p.m., at the McDonough Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Joel Alvis and Rev. Rachel Knoll officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Williams, Jr., Howard “Papa Willie” Marion

Howard “Papa Willie” Marion Williams, Jr. Mr. Howard “Papa Willie” Marion Williams, Jr., 86, of Morrow, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011. He retired from the United States Army as Sergeant First Class E7 where he served in WWII, Vietnam and Korea. Among his many awards he received 2 Purple Hearts and 3 Bronze Stars. He is survived by wife of 32 years, Sarah; children, Carol and Billy Schenck, of Jonesboro, Chuck and Wendy Williams, of Williamson, Chris Williams, of Atlanta, Ronnie and Marilyn Williams, of Asheville, N.C., and Michael and Suzanne Clark, of Alpharetta; sister, Gloria; and grandchildren, Bradley, Josh, Mandy, Kailey, Cameron and Cecilia. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, in the Ford-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Tommy Amen officiating. Sneed, Roy Junior

Roy Junior Sneed Mr. Roy Junior Sneed, 82, of Murphy, N.C., died July 10, 2011, at Mission Hospital, in Asheville, N.C., of complications from congestive heart failure, and a stroke that he suffered on June 18, 2011. Mr. Sneed was preceded in death by his wife of nearly fifty years, Donna Joan Denson Sneed; parents, Jonah Sneed and Viennah Dockery Sneed; daughter Kathy Burger; grandson Troy Burger; sisters, Barbara Sneed, Gladys Baskette, Geneva Sneed and Wanda Sneed; brothers Willie Sneed and Dwayne Sneed. He is survived by his companion of eight years, Betty Clay Self, of Murphy, N.C.; children Roy A. “Sandy” Sneed and his wife Jeanie, of Bend, Ore., Art Sneed and his wife Frankie, of Belmont, N.C., Mitch Sneed, of Carrollton, Ga., and Brenda Barnhill and her husband Chris, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers Windle Sneed, of McDonough, and Ralph Sneed, of Murphy, N.C.; sister Vida Mae Davis, of Boring, Ore. The family received friends Wednesday from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held TODAY, on July 14, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga., with the Rev. Art Sneed and the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating.
