Roy Junior Sneed Mr. Roy Junior Sneed, 82, of Murphy, N.C., died July 10, 2011, at Mission Hospital, in Asheville, N.C., of complications from congestive heart failure, and a stroke that he suffered on June 18, 2011. Mr. Sneed was preceded in death by his wife of nearly fifty years, Donna Joan Denson Sneed; parents, Jonah Sneed and Viennah Dockery Sneed; daughter Kathy Burger; grandson Troy Burger; sisters, Barbara Sneed, Gladys Baskette, Geneva Sneed and Wanda Sneed; brothers Willie Sneed and Dwayne Sneed. He is survived by his companion of eight years, Betty Clay Self, of Murphy, N.C.; children Roy A. “Sandy” Sneed and his wife Jeanie, of Bend, Ore., Art Sneed and his wife Frankie, of Belmont, N.C., Mitch Sneed, of Carrollton, Ga., and Brenda Barnhill and her husband Chris, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers Windle Sneed, of McDonough, and Ralph Sneed, of Murphy, N.C.; sister Vida Mae Davis, of Boring, Ore. The family received friends Wednesday from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held TODAY, on July 14, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga., with the Rev. Art Sneed and the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, Ga. Carl J. Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville – www.mowellfuenerlhome.com, is in charge of arrangements.
