Robbie Rene Re, 86, of Decatur, and Hampton, Ga., passed away on July 7, after a valiant battle with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, she was born on April 10, 1925, in Atlanta. She was a member of First Christian Church of Decatur for over 50 years, and a founding member of the Beacon Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Andrew Re. They enjoyed many travel adventures with their church, family, and friends throughout the U.S. and Europe. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law Andrea Re and Robert Osgood, of Savannah, Domini Re-Darling and Konrad Darling, of Hampton, and Gina Re Simonton and Ward Simonton, of Gainesville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Blair Osgood, Konrad Darling, Jesse Simonton, and Carson Simonton; brother-in-law, Nicholas Rey and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, R. O. and Eula Mae Carson, and her sisters, Norma Morris and Marguerite S. McLaughlin. The family received friends on Sunday, July 10, at 2 p.m., at A. S. Turner Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, in Decatur, followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. Graveside services were at Floral Hills Memory Garden, 3000 Lawrenceville Highway, in Tucker. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity. A. S. Turner & Sons were in charge of arrangements.
