A family entertainment leader's pizza recipe has experienced the largest change in its history in over 30 years, said a spokeswoman.
Brenda Holloway, marketing manager for CEC Entertainment, said the new pizza is composed of fresh dough that is never frozen, a crispier crust, fresh vegetables and 100 percent natural mozzarella cheese. The cheese is grated in the kitchens of local Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants every day, she said.
Clayton Root, spokesman for Chuck E. Cheese's explained that the new ingredients produce a cheesier and tastier version of the pizza for customers.
"This is a really exciting time for Chuck E. Cheese's—it's so great that our guests are enjoying our new pizza recipe, telling us how much they like it and sharing this memory with their families," added Holloway.
Chuck E. Cheese's is under the umbrella of CEC Entertainment, a nationally recognized leader in family dining and entertainment, said Root. The company and its franchisees operate 554 Chuck E. Cheese's stores in 48 states and in seven countries, including Chile, Canada, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Guam and United Arab Emirates.
"We started rolling that out in the spring, in April," added Holloway.
She said the company has been distributing the new recipes to its various locations for three, to four months.
Holloway said customers can try the new recipe at the Jonesboro location, although about 100 locations have yet to incorporate the recipe into its kitchens.
According to Chuck E. Cheese's web site, www.chuckecheese.com, the closest location for residents in Clayton and Henry counties is located at 335 Upper Riverdale Road, in Jonesboro.
Holloway said CEC Entertainment's new policies have allowed it to produce a consistent pizza product.
Root said that though the original recipe was accepted families, Chuck E. Cheese's saw an opportunity for improvement and created a new recipe to meet the evolving tastes of children and their families. He added that the original recipe placed within the top seven pizza brands, in a study Brand Keys, Inc., a research and strategic planning firm. The study concentrates on brands and customer loyalty.
"Fans are encouraged to use the new recipe's debut as an opportunity to spend some quality time with family and take advantage of Chuck E. Cheese's coupons for hours of fun," he said.
