Spivey Hall at Clayton State University will host "Sacred Harp Singing School," on Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, from 10 a.m., to 4 p.m., located at 2000 Clayton State Blvd., Morrow. The event is free and open to the public. The event will include psalms, fugues, odes, and anthems, as well as, folk songs and revival hymns. Kim McNair Productions, LLC, is accepting registration forms for the "First Ladies Charity Brunch Honoring Outstanding Women in Our Community," event until July 21. The registration will cost $20 per person until July 15, and $25 until July 21. It will include a brunch meal, gift bags, door prizes and a shopping pass. The event will allow participants to network with local business women, community leaders, educators and entrepreneurs. The event will also raise money for The Decorum Group, Inc., a non-profit organization. The Clayton County Chamber of Commerce will be accepting applications for its Leadership Clayton, a leadership development program, until July 22. The nine-month program broadens a participant's knowledge of the local issues, sharpens leadership skills and encourages the individual to seek solutions to the issues affecting the community. Faith Open Door Community Center, Inc., will be offering free summer meals for youths, 18 and under, until Aug. 5, at 213 Arrowhead Blvd., Suite G, Jonesboro. The Clayton County Library System will have a free, "Summer Reading Program," until Aug. 31, from 9 a.m., to 9 p.m., at a local Clayton County branch. The program is for infants, to youths 18 years of age. Participants will be able to read and listen to books for fun. Reading logs will be available at the libraries. Pacific Intercultural Exchange will be accepting host families for its academic semester and year "homestay" programs, until Aug. 31. The international students will be from ages 15, to 18. The Clayton County Water Authority's fishing reservoirs will be open for the fishing season. The Shamrock/Blalock Reservoir, located at 2610 Shamrock Road, Jonesboro, is open Wednesdays, through Sundays, until Oct. 30, from 7 a.m., to 8 p.m. The J.W. Smith Reservoir, located at 143 Northbridge Road, Hampton, will be open Saturdays, through Wednesdays, until Oct. 31, during the same operation hours. Clayton County residents pay $5 per vehicle, or $30 for a season pass. Residents from other counties pay $10 per vehicle or $40 for a season pass. Call (770) 603-5605.
