U.S. Congressman David Scott (D-Ga.) is scheduled to host his annual health fair in Jonesboro next month, his office announced earlier this week.
Scott's Seventh Annual 13th Congressional District Health Fair is set to take place on Aug. 13, from 10 a.m., to 2:30 p.m., at Mundy's Mill High School, located at 9652 Fayetteville Road, in Jonesboro.
A news release from the congressman's office shows several free health screenings are expected to take place during the event, including exams designed to identify symptoms of prostate cancer, breast cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, sickle cell, and osteoporosis. The health fair is also set to include free blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, hearing and dental screenings, and an offer of free discount prescription drug cards.
Scott's web site, www.davidscott.house.gov, states that pre-registration is required for the prostate cancer screenings. Interested individuals may call (770) 210-5073 to pre-register for that screening.
