Wall, Linda Neal Maddox Brooks

Linda Neal Maddox Brooks Wall, of Jackson, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. She is the daughter of Bill and Roslyn O’Neal Maddox, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Glen Maddox, and sister, Leigh Ann Maddox. Survivors include her daughter, Betsi Brooks, several cousins and friends. Ms. Wall was a long-time and faithful employee of the State of Georgia and a member of the Stark United Methodist Church. A memorial service for Linda Wall will be held Saturday, July 23 at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Dr. Royeese Stowe, the Rev. Frank Brock and Dr. Ben Wright will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelley Drive, Suite 3, Peachtree City, Ga., 30269. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at Haisten Funeral Home, prior to the service. Mitchell, Lois Cardell

Mrs. Lois Cardell Mitchell, 87, of McDonough, Ga., passed away July 17, 2011. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Henry County, the daughter of the late John Mathew and Trudie Allen Cardell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Davis Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed spending time with family and friends, living her simple life and always sharing with others. She is survived by a sister, Doris Harper, of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Marian Cardell, of Cumming; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Mitchell will be Thursday, July 21, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alvie Rodgers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
