Funeral services have been set for a Clayton County sheriff's deputy killed Wednesday in the line of duty.
Richard "Rick" Joseph Daly, 55, died after being shot during a traffic stop at East Fayetteville and Walker roads. Daly was assisting in the service of felony warrants on Veasna Jonathan Bun, 17, of Riverdale. Arrest warrants issued to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation allege Bun got out of a car and opened fire on Daly. Bun is charged with murder in Daly's death. Daly is the first countywide law enforcement officer in Clayton to die gunshot in the line of duty. The viewing will be held Wednesday, June 27, from 9 a.m., to 9 p.m., at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave. in Jonesboro. The funeral will be held Thursday, June 28 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Jonesboro on Church Street. — Kathy JefcoatsMore like this story
