Residents of a south Henry County neighborhood are picking up the pieces, after a fire damaged their homes, destroying one.
The blaze erupted Thursday night, in a cul-de-sac on St. Teresa Court, in Locust Grove.
Jon Stanford lives at 1400 St. Teresa Court. His was one of four homes damaged in the subdivision, located at Hawthorne at Linden Park. Stanford was at home with his wife Melissa and their infant son, when the incident occurred.
"I was about to leave the house to the pharmacy, and we heard a pop," said Stanford, 39. "It sounded like it was water rushing, or something under the house. I walked out the back door, and saw [a neighbor's] house was on fire. I didn't know if they were home or not."
Stanford said neither his family, nor any of his neighbors, were injured in the fire. As he waited for an insurance adjuster to arrive at his home in the cul-de-sac Friday, Stanford said he was unsure what his family's next step would be.
"We're kind of confused, and just taking it minute-by-minute," he said.
Further details on the fire were not immediately available, Friday. Investigators for the Henry County Fire Department said the incident is under investigation.
