Two people were arrested in separate incidents Tuesday for allegedly trying to carry weapons through security at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Warrants issued to the Atlanta Police Department allege that Rolando Buigas, 39, of Smyrna and Kimberly Lynn Farmer, 49, of Mt. Airy, Ga., were each charged with bringing a weapon into an unauthorized location. Police allege Farmer had a Beretta .22-caliber handgun in her bag when she put it on the conveyor belt at lane 14. The Transportation Safety Administration agent said the gun was not "artfully concealed" and that Farmer has a gun permit. The bag Buigas was carrying through checkpoint south held a Glock .40-caliber handgun, allege police. Both spent the night at the Clayton County Jail, pending a first appearance hearing Wednesday afternoon. — Kathy JefcoatsMore like this story
