Charges are pending in a two-car crash that sent five to area hospitals Thursday morning, said Clayton County police.
Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services personnel used the jaws of life to extricate an adult pinned in one of the cars, said Battalion Chief Jacque Feilke. Four other victims suffered severe to life-threatening injuries, she said. Three of those victims are ages 3, to 7.
One child was taken by helicopter to Scottish Rite. Two other children and a second adult victim were transported to area hospitals by Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services ambulances.
The two cars collided at Ga. Hwy. 85 and Webb Road. Clayton police said the victim who was trapped was in critical condition. Charges are pending against the driver of the car that apparently turned in front of the second one, police said.
