Robert Joseph Myers Robert Joseph Myers, passed away on June 2, 2011, in Atlanta, as a result of complications following cancer surgery. Born Nov. 26, 1929, in Moline, Ill., Bob graduated from Augustana College and earned an M.A. in library science from the University of Illinois. Over the years, he held faculty positions in the libraries at New Mexico State, University of Florida, Frostburg State College, Central Virginia Community College, Ohio State University, and served as librarian for more than 20 years at Atlanta Junior College/Atlanta Metro, retiring in the mid-1990s. He remained active as a volunteer, reading for the blind at the Georgia Radio Reading Service, and as an officer of the Retired Educators Association. He was also very involved in his church, St. Augustine Episcopal in Morrow, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Myers, of Largo, Fla.; wife, Margaret (Evans) Myers; and ex-wife, Alene Bailey Myers. He is survived by his stepchildren, Robert Evans, of Stockbridge, Deb Evans, of Atlanta, Susie Evans Harlan, of McDonough, Linda Harvey (Tom) of Columbus, Ohio; his step-grandchildren, Ian Evans (Shelby Griffin), of Stockbridge, Justin Evans (Kate), of McDonough, Audrey Harlan, of Stockbridge, Jeremy Harlan, of McDonough, Sarah Koenig (Chris), and Andrew Trafford, of Columbus, Ohio; step-great-grandchildren, Leah Evans, Robert Evans, and Maggie Evans; and many loving friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 3 p.m., at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, 1221 Morrow Rd., Morrow, Ga.
