A Stone Mountain woman was charged Thursday with second degree vehicular homicide in a crash that killed her front-seat passenger.

Clayton County Police Officer Phong Nguyen said driver Elizabeth Vaughn, 30, was also charged with failure to yield the right of way and child seat violations in the June 2 crash. Two of her three children were ejected upon impact, said Nguyen, and the front seat passenger had to be extricated.

The passenger, Alxavier Ramsey, 24, of Stone Mountain, was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died.

The three children, ages 9, 5, and 3, were taken to an Atlanta hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Nguyen said Vaughn was traveling south on Ga. 85 in Riverdale about 9:38 a.m. when she turned left onto Webb Road in front of northbound traffic. Vaughn, in a 1998 Mitsubishi Gallant, hit a 1998 Nissan Altima, which impacted a 2006 Nissan Altima as it turned right onto Webb Road.
