Three suspected gang members have been charged with beating and robbing a Forest Park man.
Vashon Almun Watson, 25, of Jonesboro; Detanjamar Tromond Deshazer, 24, and David Dequandra Jackson, 30, both of College Park, are charged in the May 9 beating of a man at an apartment complex on Jonesboro Road. All three were being held in the Clayton County Jail.
Court records allege Watson acted as a lookout while the other two men assaulted Sergio Vicenter in the back of his head with a glass bottle. When Vicenter fell to the ground, one of the men stepped on his back, leaving a bloody shoe print on his clothes.
Police allege the men took Vicenter's cell phone and $214 in cash and fled the scene in a silver 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage. The alleged attack was captured on surveillance cameras installed at the complex.
Vicenter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
When the suspects were arrested, police noted gang marks on Watson's and Deshazer's bodies -- specifically a dog paw burned into their flesh. Police also allege the men were known to wear red bandannas and claimed to be members of the Bloods, a notorious violent street gang.
Watson also faces new charges of aggravated assault and firearms possession, filed Friday in a separate incident.
