Nathan D. Blackwell, 21, of McDonough, passed away June 18, 2011. Nathan was born in Decatur, Ga., and was part of the first graduating class of Ola High School in 2008. He was a full-time student at Georgia Perimeter College, and enjoyed drawing and cooking. Survivors include his mother, April (Dennis) Albright, of Warner Robins; father, Don Blackwell, of McDonough; brother, Zachary Blackwell; grandparents, Wallace and Betty Newton, of Stockbridge; great-grandmother, Miriam Newton, of Stockbridge; step brothers, Chris and Charles Albright, both of Seneca, S.C., Jonathan Albright, of Warner Robins; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be conducted Friday, June 24, at 3 p.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. David Newton will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Noahs Ark Animal Rehabilitation Center, 712 Locust Grove-Griffin Road, Locust Grove, Ga. 30248-4317, in memory of Nathan.
