Mrs. Cecil Mae Allen, age 90, of Oxford, passed away June 18, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born in Henry County to the late William A. and Rosa Leanna Barnes. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Baptist faith and a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Allen, and her son, Richard Allen. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Allen of Oxford, Sandra Jones of Jackson, Reginald and Debbie Allen of Pace, Fla., Larry and Brenda Allen of Jackson, Tommy and Nancy Allen of Covington, Jackie Thomason of Covington, Stanley and Debi Allen of Sebring, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Allen of Covington; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 21 at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Jones officiating. Interment followed at Sardis Baptist Cemetery in Henry County. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Mike and Todd Allen, Dennis Sullivan, Reggie Allen II, Ryan Allen and great-grandson, Casey Blackstock. The family received friends Monday evening, June 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O.
