It was not quite "It's a Small World After All," but the end-of-camp grand finale for Arts Clayton's youth summer camps did take on a worldly feel at J.W. Arnold Elementary School, in Jonesboro, recently.
That feel came from the 96 campers performing songs and dances about protecting the environment. The theme of the camp, and Friday's grand finale performance, was "Update Earth: Kids Rock the World for the Environment."
Participants in the camp spent two weeks rehearsing their songs and dance routines, as well as recycling items, such as used wire hangers and cereal boxes, to create sculptures and paintings. The visual art pieces, including sculptures, paintings and photographs were put on display in a special gallery show, before the musical extravaganza.
