Mrs. JoAnn Cleveland Rosser Norton, 73, of Locust Grove, passed away June 21, 2011. JoAnn was born in Locust Grove, the daughter of the late Benjamin O’Dell and Willie Ruth Singley Cleveland. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Aldean Rosser, in 1972. JoAnn was a member of County Line Baptist Church. She had retired from Southern States with 25 plus years. JoAnn was known for her love for her family and friends. She enjoyed yard sales, the mountains, auctions, her phone friends, animals and her dog “Sadie.” Survivors are her husband, Bennie B. Norton, of Locust Grove; children, Norma R and Chipper Gardner, of Griffin, Joseph Aldean and Melinda Rosser, of Barnesville, Lisa R and Steve Petty, of McDonough; grandchildren, Kristie Griffin, of Hazlehurst, Ala., and Nicole Gardner, of Locust Grove, Katie Gardner, of Locust Grove, Christopher and Rachel Petty, of McDonough, and Nicki Hoard, of Barnesville; great-grandchildren, Jodie and Hunter Griffin, of Hazlehurst, Caroline Gardner, of Locust Grove and Makenzie Hoard, of Barnesville; step-children, Charles L. Norton, of Conyers, Christy Davidson, of Cartersville, Laura and Steve Barn, of Buford; seven step great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Darley, of McDonough, Gloria and Alex Garland, of Locust Grove; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 23, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
