Mrs. Betty Ann Long Brown, age 75, of Jackson, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence. She was born May 12, 1936 in Lawrenceville, to the late William Henry and Minnie Lucille Burton Long. She attended Eagles Way Church in Griffin and was previously employed by McKesson Distributors in Atlanta for many years. She worked with her husband at their produce stand in the Stark Community. Betty enjoyed cooking, gardening, making others happy, and being a good wife, mother, and friend. Betty is survived by her husband of 52 years, Glen Brown, of Jackson; two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and David Gilchrist, Patricia Rice and Rick Kmitta, all of Jackson; five sisters, Lillie Earnest, of Fayetteville, Irene Wheeler, of Conyers, Sarah Klett, of Fayetteville, Frances Brisendine, of Dunwoody, Susie Baker, of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, along with her cats, Tiger and Archie, and grand-dogs, Marko, Pupper, Luna, and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas Kimbell, and eight sisters and brothers. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 24, in the Sherrell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buren Goss and Dr. Keith Wesley officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. The family received friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday evening.
