Capt. Robert Edward Redlinger, of Morrow, was born May 2, 1931, in Washington, Pa. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1950, and served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He received a battlefield commission in Vietnam, and retired in 1974, after 24 years of honorable service. He married Elaine Alice Butterfield on Nov. 22, 1952. They were together for 59 years. He was a skilled craftsman and was known for always helping his family, neighbors, and friends with home-building projects. His generosity and love knew no bounds. He will truly be missed. Services will be held in the chapel, Monday, June 27, at 11 a.m., at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Jimmy Fain and the Rev. Greg Fain officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Redlinger, and sister, Imogene Jameison. Survivors include his wife, Elaine A. Redlinger; daughter, Patty Jo and Cesar Sanchez, of Flovilla; sons, Billy and Laura Redlinger, of Hubert, N.C., Jack and Michelle Redlinger, of McDonough, CK and Lama Redlinger, of Amman, Jordan, Bryan Waugh, of Atlanta; brother, Bill Redlinger, of Washington, Pa.; grandchildren, Nicholas and Sherry Bell, Kristyn and Robbie Hall, Teresa and Jason Clark, Adam Redlinger, Amber Redlinger, Ashlynd Redlinger, Stephanie Redlinger, Isabella Redlinger, Tamara Malhas, Tajeldin Redlinger; great grandchildren, Sidney Bell, Morgan Bell, Tyson Clark, and Lauren Hall.
