The Old South may be gone with the wind, but some lucky fans can revive the spirit July 2 as Turner Field celebrates the literary favorite.
Jonesboro's Road to Tara Museum, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta History Center and Margaret Mitchell House are teaming together for "Gone With The Wind" night at the baseball field, to commemorate the book's 75th anniversary.
Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau spokeswoman Rebekah Cline said fans who show up to watch the Braves take on the Baltimore Orioles, dressed as a character from the book, will get $10 off an upper box or outfield pavilion ticket. The first 1,000 fans will also get a free admission voucher to the Jonesboro museum.
In keeping with the salute to the world's best-selling novel, fans may participate in GWTW trivia, a Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara look-alike contest, learn how to dance the Virginia reel and pose for photos with Civil War re-enactors, Cline said.
Fans may take their July 2 Braves game ticket stubs to the Atlanta History Center or Margaret Mitchell House and get $5-off admission.
