Myers, Doris Ketterer

Doris Ketterer Myers, age 73, of Jackson, went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2011 at Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin. She was born in Pennsylvania June 19, 1937, daughter of the late Robert Paul Ketterer and Bertha Rieneer Ketterer. She and her husband, Ralph, had resided in Decatur, Tucker, Chamblee and Cumming, before moving to Jackson. She had been employed by Colonial Stores, Big Star and Ingles before her retirement. Doris was a devout Christian woman, a member of Bible Baptist Church in Jackson. She was actively supportive of missions. She loved cooking, practical jokes, and was very artistic. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Ralph T. Myers; children, Dennis and Teresa Myers, Ted and Debbie Myers, Robert and Nancy Myers; adopted son, Jim Lowery; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a 13-year-old son, Donald Ray Myers, in 1973. She is also survived by her devoted dog, Misty. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8 at 11 a.m., at the Bible Baptist Church in Jackson. Pastor Nathan Dorsey officiated. Interment was in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker.
