Mr. Tommy Duncan May 1, 1937 – March 5, 2011 Mr. Tommy Duncan, 73, of Hampton, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Henry Medical Center. He was born in LaGrange, Ga., on May 1, 1937, to the late Rev. James Howard Duncan and the late Bertie Carrouth Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a retired salesman with Hennessey’s in Morrow, and a longtime member of the North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church, where he has served as a deacon for 12 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Athalia B. Duncan; daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca A. Smith, of McDonough, Teresa L. Duncan, of Hampton, Donna J. and Bill Day, of Jenkinsburg; grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Jennifer Day and Anthony Day; great granddaughter, Marley Grace Rogers; sister, Hazel Davis, of Starr, S.C.; brother, James H. Duncan, of Auburn, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at 3 p.m., in the North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church. The Rev. Gene Luke and the Rev. Steve Willingham will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends visited the family on Monday, from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Road, Griffin, is in charge of the arrangements.
