A body was found outside of a Clayton County Family Dollar store on Thursday morning, said Officer John Schneller, public information officer for the Clayton County Police Department.
Schneller said the body of a black adult male was found at the store, at 5425 Riverdale Road, in unincorporated Clayton County. The store has a College Park address, and is located about 200 feet from Norman Drive, said the officer.
"There was a gunshot, and that's the apparent cause of death," said, Schneller.
Schneller said the body was found by authorities on the north side of the Family Dollar building.
Schneller said he could not provide further information, because the investigation is ongoing.
"It is still so early in the investigation," he said.
