A member of the Clayton County chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is poised to premier a gospel play that she is producing and directing, this weekend.

Shelby Pease Adams helped write, produce and direct the musical, "Raella," which will debut on Sunday, at 5 p.m., at Emmanuel Baptist Church, which is located at 230 Ga. Hwy. 138, in Riverdale. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, for adults, and they are free for children under 12.

Clayton County NAACP members can pay an "at-the-door" price of only $10, according to the chapter's president, Synamon Baldwin.

Among the cast is J. Ahmad, who has had roles in Tyler Perry's film "Madea's Class Reunion" and television series "Meet the Browns." Other members of the cast include Tasha Hill, and her daughter Cheyenne. Tasha Hill made headlines in 2009 and 2010 as the victim of a beating attack at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Morrow.
