Morris, Ronnie Carl

Ronnie Carl Morris, 58, was born April 24, 1954, and passed on to his eternal reward, March 13, 2011. Ronnie was born and lived his entire life in the Atlanta area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Cleveland Morris and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Morris. After graduating from Sylvan High School, he attended Georgia State College, and eventually graduated from Clayton College and State University. He was employed by Factory Automation Systems, where he was known to his co-workers as “MacGyver,” because of his ability to make things with available materials. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane Marie Morris, of McDonough; daughters, Kimberly (Jeremy) Ropp, and Mary (Aaron) Souto; grandchildren, Aidan and Olivia Souto, and Avery Ropp; sisters, Sandra (Buddy) Garret and Barbara (Chuck) Camp; nephews, Chad Camp and Andy Garrett. Services will be held Friday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m., at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church, with Father James Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, at 1 p.m., with Deacon Richard Tolcher officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Those who wish, may sign the online guest registry at cannonclevelandfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.
