Mundy's Mill remains undefeated with win over J-Boro

Jerek Wright pitched six innings to help Mundy's Mill defeat Joneboro 6-2 in extra innings Monday as the Tigers remain undefeated on the season. Wright (4-0) had eight strikeouts while giving up only one run and two hits.

The Tigers were up 2-1 going into the seventh inning before Jonesboro's Cedric Nettles hit a solo homer to tie the score.

Offensively, No. 8-ranked Mundy's Mill was led Rodney Smith, who had five RBI and a solo home run. Rashad Crawford also had two hits for the Tigers, who take on Lovejoy today.

Alcovy 5, Dutchtown 1: Kellan Holiday hit a double to get the Bulldogs' only RBI of the game. Sophomore pitcher Riley Presnell went the distance and give up four runs to get the loss. Josh Sconyers had two hits for the Bulldogs, who fell to 1-6 on the season.
