Three Clayton State University departments and student organizations will celebrate the contributions of women through history, on Thursday, during a Women's History Month luncheon, featuring State Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell), the school has announced.
The luncheon, which is open only to Clayton State students, faculty and staff members, will begin at 11:30 a.m., in the ballroom at the school's Student Activities Center, which is on the university's main campus in Morrow.
The event is being sponsored by the university's Department of Campus Life, DEEP Peer Educators, and Campus Events Council. It is free for members of the university community to attend.
Morgan is scheduled to give the luncheon's keynote address. She has been a member of the Georgia House of Representatives since 2003, when she became Cobb County's first African-American representative to the house, according to her legislative biography.
For more information, call the Department of Campus Life, at (678) 466-5433.
