Four Southern Crescent basketball players were chosen to the Atlanta Tipoff Club's all-metro team.
Named to the girls' team was Forest Park senior Keyonna Allen while juniors Marcus Hunt of North Clayton and Lovejoy's Justin Tuoyo and senior Rasham Suarez of Jonesboro was named to the boys' squad.
All four led the teams to the recent Class AAAA playoffs. They will be honored alone with the Mr. and Miss Basketball winners at Monday's banquet at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.
"The basketball talent in Atlanta continues to excel and is without question among the best in the nation," Tipoff Club executive director Eric Oberman said in a statement. " We feel a tremendous sense of pride in all of our winners and honorees and salute their amazing seasons."
Allen, a 6-foot-1 Presbyterian College signee, averaged 12.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in leading Forest Park to the Class AAAA finals. The Lady Panthers won the Region 4-AAAA title and only lost once to an in-state team this season.
The 6-foot-5 Hunt is considered one of the top junior prospects in the state for next season. In leading the Eagles to the second round of the state playoffs, he averaged 26.2 points, 15 rebounds and four assist per game.
Tuoyo led the Wildcats to the regular season Region 4-AAAA championship and the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. The 6-foot-9 junior averaged 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots per game.
Suarez, a 6-1 point guard, is the two-time Region 4-AAAA Player of the Year. He led the Cardinals to the region tournament championship. The Georgia Southern signee helped the Cardinals reached the state semifinals, where they lost to eventual champion Miller Grove.
