* College students helping clean Reynolds Preserve

Only one comment and it is negative? Who's in charge of this posting area?

* College students helping clean Reynolds Preserve

There is always someone who is going to speak negatively about those who serve. The students spent their spring break working hard and playing hard, too. They did a terrific job at Reynolds Nature Preserve. They also spent time at the Good Shephard Clinic and with students of Morrow Elementary. "what the???" is lying about being at Reynolds observing the students and is ignorant about how the students spent "everyday or night". "what the???" is just a sad little hater. Boston College and the City of Morrow have developed a wonderful relationship that benefits the City, the students and this year, everyone who spends time at Reynolds Preserve. So, like it or not "what the ???", if you aren't lying about being a long time Reynolds visitor, you are one of those who benefits from their service. Now don't you forget to say "Thank you." ;-)

* Red Cross to help Japanese earthquake victims

My heart goes out to the victims in Japan. The Prime Minister asked for monetary donations. The U.S is in to much debit with Japan and has been for years. Maybe the Red Cross didnt get the message. Japan needs financial assistance not band-aids and neosporin. In this devastating time of need this is the best time for the U.S to pay back the country it owes!

* Clayton NAACP member to debut gospel musical

thank u and may GOD contiual u bless u more . It was an awesome play we as GODS children need more of that. especially in times like these. This really touch my heart and help me to realize no matter how hard life may seem at times that GOD got our backs. with love just one of GODS CHILDREN.

* Butts Co. deputy involved in car crash

How conventient that it is not the officers fault. I'm glad everyone seems to be okay, however why in the world is okay for officers to take their children and their friends anywhere in a patrol car. Are they going to come pick me up and take me where I need to go? I didn't think so. Officer's now won't even help you when you are locked out of your car or have a flat....

* Fatal plane crash in Hampton

FYI: The reporter did not use four commas. The reporter used two. Perhaps, the more experienced editors believed it was a better read to add more commas, Bob.

* Joiner, Lloyd Gregory

May our powerful and loving GOD give you peace.You both were wonderful parents, and he had a loving family.

* Houston, 56, inspires with fitness

Ray is a true inspiration with his attitude and determination. You'll never meet a more genuine man than Pastor Houston.

* Houston, 56, inspires with fitness

I've known Ray for many years and can attest that he is one of the fittest middle aged men I know. His classes are amazing and I always feel like I've had the most incredible workout.

* Joiner, Lloyd Gregory

My thoughts and prayers are with the Joiner family. I watched Greg grow up on VA Circle and Pineridge.

* DA seeking indictment of county finance director

Here we go again. Let's see where we've been and where we're going. A couple of years ago the BOC tried to get rid of Ms Jackson, they tried to throw her under the bus. Now the DA's office is looking to indict her for what sounds frivolous. I'm not saying if Ms Jackson did unlawful things turn a blind eye. If you knowingly break the law, you should pay for your crime. Let's make sure she is not a scapegoat to take the focus off of the real crime going on at 112 Smith Street. Miss DA are there other indictments pending? There's been way too much unlawfulness going on by elected officials (BOC) that is worthy of your attention. If you can't handle it call on the GBI, FBI, IRS, EPA and anybody else you need to expeditiously. There's plenty for each of these agencies to review (probably a few others not mentioned), both county related and personal. Open the flood gate of Justice and let the rivers of waters wash this county clean.

* BOE scraps shorter school year proposal

How will cutting 12 Assistant Principals save $2.3 million? Who made that calculation? That would mean that they make almost $200,000. Come on people, let's get real, they make good money, but not even half of that!!! No one who works in any school makes close to $200,000...perhaps they should check district level personnel salaries. Plus the Assistant Principals are the real workerbees. As the parent of a high school student in CCPS, I know that the AP's are the ones I always see and talk to. I can only imagine how long their days are! Think about it, who's at the schools when the kids get there at 8:00 in the morning and is still around at the athletic events and conference nights until 10:00 or later at night? No, they don't get overtime,they don't make anywhere close to what they deserve, and they still manage to raise their own kids. And the superintendent wants to cut them...I agree with "Clayton County Citizen," who's going to do their job, the Georgia National Guard?

* Butts Co. deputy involved in car crash

Just so everybody knows, I am pretty sure the Sheriff is a separate department of the County. I don't think the Commissioners have anything to do with him. They control his budget but the operation is his. This guy is out of control. What does somebody who works in the jail even have a car for? I really wonder if the Sheriff has any control over this department at all. Maybe somebody better will run against him.

As for relatives, I'm Mr. Whitten's sister in law, and as of today the 12th, he is still in Atlanta Medical, still having a rough time. This article makes it sound like they kept him one day, and released him. Not the truth. He was very injured.

* Beads fly, seniors dance at Griswell Center

I AM A CLAYTON COUNTY RESIDENT, AND I HAVE ATTENDED SOME OF THE CITY COUNSEL MEETINGS, AND IT IS A SHAME THE WAY THEY ARE GOING UP ON FEES,after all the senior have paid their taxes and hope they could enjoy the rest of there lives without all the major cost, no one in their right mind will pay $180.00 ,plus pay for other of the activities offered at the center.

* Houston, 56, inspires with fitness

Nice article, glad to see people are inspired to be more active! Physical fitness is key for healthy aging.

* Man connected to murder case gets bond

WHAT JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED, A YOUNG BEAUTIFUL GIRL LOST HER LIFE.HE HAS AS MUCH RESPONSIBILITY FOR HER DEATH AS THE OTHER ONE THAT PULLED THE TRIGGER. HE MIGHT AS WELL BEEN HOLDING THE GUN TOO! STEP-DADDY NEEDS TO THINK HOW HE WOULD FEEL IF IT WAS HIS FAMILY MEMBER WHO WAS KILLED.

* Jonesboro adds sanctions to teen curfew ordinance

I say "It's about time that parents are held accountable for their children". Good job on being on top of things before they get out of hand and someone gets hurt or worse.

* Jonesboro adds sanctions to teen curfew ordinance

It's about time someone started making irresponsible parents responsible for their own. This may be o.k. for 1st offenders, but I'd like to see 2nd offenders serve weekends with their parent(s) in trash pick up.

* Jonesboro adds sanctions to teen curfew ordinance

This is so very much needed. We pray that the parents will see this as a means to help and perhaps save their child's life, by monitoring where they are after 11:00 pm.

* School fight leads to felony charges

I would very much appreciate WSB-TV accurately reporting news about Clayton County. For example, this article (School fight leads to felony charges) was placed under Clayton county news instead of where it belonged, Henry County. Please read the article again and respectfully make the appropriate correction.

* Ga. 42 project adding passing lanes

keep up the good work

* School fight leads to felony charges

How does this Major feel that gang activity in a school is growing issue, and not a "major" issue. Where are you living Mr. Foster, Mars? If you have two 17 yr olds (Nestor and Nelms), that have already been arrested for gang activity, then you have a MAJOR gang problem. If you CONTINUE to take the reactive approach, instead of a proactive approach, then it will be too late to stop these wannabe gangsters from becoming MAJOR gangsters. Maybe if you have the deputies actually walk around the schools in the mornings when the students are arriving, and when they are leaving in the afternoons, you might be able to curb some incidents from occurring. How about you drive around to some of your schools to see or not see the deputy's cars at the schools. I have yet to see a brown car at a school, when the kids are coming and going. I would hate to see something bad really unfold, and there is not a deputy within earshot of the front doors. Growing issue....give me a break!!!!!

* Fifth-grader wins with cattle-raising

Way to go Rand. We are very proud of you.

* DA seeking indictment of county finance director

OK, help me with this. The DA is trying to indite the finance director for getting rid of cell phone records from Verizon? Can we not just get Verizon to pull up the old bills then submit them to the public? Why does it have to come to this? Something in the milk ain't clean!!!

* Local salon holding prom dress drive

Great idea and a wonderful way to give back to the community! Kudos to you!

* Jonesboro adds sanctions to teen curfew ordinance

I agree. They should be held accountable. I am so sick of parents saying "my child couldn't have done this or that". You don't know what your child is capable of doing when he is not around you. His/her mind does a complete "brain dump" when they are with his/her so-called peers. Stop making excuses for your children. You know, in your heart, what they are capable of doing.

* Butts Co. deputy involved in car crash

I think its funny that no other article in this newspaper got this must attention. When something truly important happens in this county, no one has anything to say. When a police officer gets into a car accident, everyone has something to say. WOW! We sure have some caring citizens of Butts county. The only thing that seems to be important is starting drama over a car accident. No one cares about the guy charged with trafficking out of his house, the gambling raid in Flovilla, or any even some of the students be recognized for excellant achievement. Seeing how eveyone has their own version of what happened, here's mine.... The police car was driving down the highway when, an unidentified object (UFO) pushed his car to accelerate and hit Mr. Whittens car. Then the unidentified object found the dumbest people in the county and brainwashed them to think something different happened. They then forced these people to put stupid comments on the internet of what they "were told happened".

* Jonesboro adds sanctions to teen curfew ordinance

This story does not sound right. City of Jonesboro issued the permits to this business so they must know who owns the plaza and who is operating it.They may be trying to get the owners of the plaza or the business.I have noticed that whenever there is an event at the plaza there is always a county sheriff officer and licensed private security officers.There is something fishy going on here.if people are uncomfortable with kids walking to and from a party or function does not make the kids a nuisance,maybe we need to review our prejudicial perceptions.There have been many summers and warm temperatures before this year and there was no need for this sanction until this business that is not a teen club opened....Wowww!
