Georgia Bar mourns loss of Chuck Driebe
To the editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to join those who have expressed condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Charles J. "Chuck" Driebe on his recent passing.
In addition to his service to his clients in his private law practice, and to the public as a former City of Atlanta Alderman and active participant in local, state and national politics, Chuck was a true pioneer in the Georgia legal community.
He was the first president of the State Bar's Young Lawyers Division and was instrumental in the formation of a unified State Bar and establishing our code of ethics and self-discipline.
His distinguished service on our Board of Governors continued until the time of his death.
His fellow Georgia lawyers are grateful for, and inspired by, Chuck Driebe's career-long efforts to promote the cause of justice and uphold the integrity of the legal profession. He will be missed by all.
S. LESTER TATE, III President, State Bar of Georgia
