Simon is an 8 month old black and white domestic shorthair Manx (little or no tail). Simon has been neutered and fully vaccinated. Simon and his brother, Sage (also available for adoption) were born of a stray cat, on the back porch of a lady living way down in Rockdale County. There were originally 3 kittens, but one died of a severe upper respiratory infection after just a few weeks of life. Simon also had the virus and it caused fluid and infection to build up behind his eyes, and finally one actually ruptured. The kind lady who had been feeding the mom and babies realized that Simon was in real trouble, and she began to search for a rescue group to assist this little family. No one would help her locally, and she was desperate when she called CCHS asking for help. Hearing of Simon's serious situation, CCHS agreed to take them all. All efforts to catch "mom" failed, but Simon and Sage were quickly captured and on the road to a better life. Simon's eye was beyond any type of medical recovery, so sadly, we had to have his entire eye removed. His other eye is fine, and he has suffered no loss of ability to function normally. He is quiet, and so very well-behaved. He is a little shy, but when he's picked up, he immediately snuggles into your arms and purrs with total contentment. He has been offered the freedom to roam the CCHS cat room, but he chooses the quiet solitude of his cage. However, his brother, Sage is full of energy and curiosity, and given an open cage door, he is off and exploring every inch of the cat area. We would love to send these special brothers to the same home, but it will not be required. They can be adopted separately or together. If anyone is interested in adopting them as a pair, there will be a special lower adoption fee. For further information, please call Robin at 770-478-7531.
