Area realtors were honored recently during the Metro South Association of Realtors (MSAR) Annual Circle of Excellence Recognition Brunch.

The event, which was held last Tuesday at the Merle Manders Conference Center in Stockbridge, recognizes realtors from Henry, and Clayton counties, who have achieved sales in excess of $1 million. The event also showcases those realtors who have reached pinnacle periods of longevity in their careers, said Michael Paulicelli, a broker and the owner of Excel Realty in McDonough.

"This is an important time for real estate professionals, because it is their day to be recognized in front of their peers and the general public for achievements in success and good business practice in our industry," Paulicelli said.

"Buying a home has become more complex, especially when buyers are purchasing foreclosed properties," he continued. "It is truly the Realtors in this industry that go the extra length, and are more knowledgeable in the process, [who help] to make the general public's purchase of real estate a rewarding and successful endeavor."

Paulicelli, who is also MSAR's public relations chairman, said the annual breakfast is partly designed to make the public aware of the industry's "pride, professionalism, and diligence."

"What is truly important -- especially in the difficult industry and times that we are in -- is that the public realize the importance of working with a professional Realtor," he added.

Paulicelli commended area realtors who achieved sales at $1 million or above. The honorees are as follows: John Durham and Team, of Starate Realty; Cynthia Brown, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; Jamie Upchurch and Team, of Welcome Home Real Estate Group; Tammi Lamb, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; LBR Home Selling Team, of Re/Max Advantage; Michelle Munda, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty Team; Crystal Lake Realty, of Crystal Lake Realty; Brian O'Neal, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; Jim Defee and Team, of Keller Williams Realty Atlanta; Mike Ward, of Re/Max Advantage; Paul Puckett, of Re/Max Advantage; Ruby Letendre and Team, of Welcome Home Real Estate Group; Steven Dickens, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; Vickie Hunt, of Home Team Realty; Barbara Durrance, of Welcome Home Real Estate Group; Bobbie Roper, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; Brianne Drake, of Better Homes and Gardens, Metro Brokers; Carol Waldrup and Team, of Better Homes and Gardens, Metro Brokers; Dottie Wise, of Better Homes and Gardens, Metro Brokers; Kim Adair, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; Mary Bud Cooper, of Cooper Realty; Melinda Buntyn, of Re/Max Advantage; Melissa Danielson, of Solid Source Realty; Rebekah Stephens, of Better Home and Gardens, Metro Brokers; Robin Brake and Team, of Re/Max Advantage; Robin Harrell, of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty; Stephanie Burt, of Keller Williams Realty Atlanta; and Susan Hudson, of Home Team Realty.

"The Circle of Excellence was a great success," noted MSAR President Earlene Gardner. "With our current economic environment, things are challenging in the real estate industry. So, I think it's more of an honor for the 27 individuals that were honored at our brunch."
