The Morrow City Council is scheduled to meet behind closed doors today to review the findings of a three-person panel that recently presided over a removal hearing for City Councilman John Lampl, the city has announced.
The council will hold a called meeting at 4 p.m., at Morrow City Hall, which is located at 1500 Morrow Road, in Morrow. Once the meeting begins, the council is scheduled to go into executive session to "review the findings from the hearing panel," City Clerk Evyonne Browning announced in a meeting notice sent to local newspapers.
On April 27 and 28, the hearing panel heard testimony from witnesses who outlined a pattern of alleged mistreatment, by Lampl, towards elected officials and city employees. The hearing was specifically held to deal with a complaint, filed by the city's Finance Director, Dan Defnall, that Lampl allegedly created a hostile work environment for the finance director while Lampl was serving on the city council.
An agenda for the called meeting shows there will be time set aside for comments from members of the public, and members of the city council, at the end of the meeting. The agenda does not show a vote on Lampl's future on the council being scheduled to take place.
