Ga. ethics panel struggles with budget cuts

ATLANTA -- Georgia has slashed funding for its ethics commission which top officials say has left it unable to do the additional work lawmakers have handed it.

Lora Sue Lastinger Langley, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed peacefully from her earthly being on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 3:02 p.m. She is survived by her husband, Timothy F. Langley; her precious sons, Joshua (Cristina), Nick, and Colby; grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Mya, Joshua; sister-in-law, Debbie Copeland (Richard); parents, Marlon Lastinger (Ann), and Joyce Ferguson Cawley; twin sister, Lisa Lastinger; sisters, Debi Lastinger (David Pittman), Cara DeCelles, Ellen Curry (Monty); brother, Randy Lastinger; stepbrother, Lonnie Pate; stepsister, Terea Jacobs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a large and loving extended family. A Mother’s Day memorial service is being held in Lora’s honor this Sunday, May 8, at 10 a.m. All those touched by her tremendous love and generosity are invited to celebrate her life with friends and family.
