Kitchens, Clomer Lucious

Mr. Clomer Lucious Kitchens, age 90, of Jackson, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 18, 1920 in Covington, son of the late Lucious Oliver and Ozella Parker Kitchens. Mr. Kitchens served in the U.S. Army in World War II in Germany and France. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Titus Greene, of Shelby, N.C.; two grandsons, Rusty and Andy Greene, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Betty Thaxton Kitchens, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 13, at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lane Sanders officiating. Interment was at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
