* Griffin man convicted of killing baby

i will never believe anything like this, this is not his charater. i am praying that he will get a new trial! there are a lot of people locked up and has been wrongfully accused. it's on the news all the time. and this is difinitelly one of them! i wish him all the luck in the world, because i know he is innocent of this crime,without any second thought.

* Man beaten in McDonough parking lot

does anyone else wonder why this is not being handled as a hate crime? I guess white people must be the only ones capable of hate crimes.

* In defense of nursing

I nursed my babies and would encourage any mother to do it however after the age of one I believe it is not norshment but mothers trying to keep their child depended on them and not wanting them to grow up...we are the only mammal that drinks milk passed "weaning"...of course in some third world countries lactating females nursing their elderly

* Breast-feeding fight emerging in Forest Park

I totally agree with both Michelle and Bob! There is a point in time where the child is too old to breast feed. At around 6 to 8 months, is where you need to stop! There are issues with the Mother and the attachment that make them want to continue to breast feed. And the ordinance is not saying you can't breast feed, just not over the age of 2! If the Mother was raised right herself, then she would excuse herself to the restroom or her car to proceed with that anyway!!!

* 'Blessed are those who believe without seeing' - James C. Bell Jr.

Mr. Bell, i just read your column on your friend Mr.Payton Mayo. I am a christian and was just encouraged by the Godly character qualities you described your friend as possessing. Thank you for taking the time to write an article about a man of faith, those are the kind of stories we need to read more often. P.S. please keep singing I also pray God the father and His Only Son are tone deaf. Your Brother in Christ I hope we meet on this side heaven, because surely we will on the other. God bless and keep you, your friend and fellow servant Rick.

* Breast-feeding fight emerging in Forest Park

If a mother wants to continue to breast-feed her child after the age of two then that's her choice. But do it at home and maybe pump milk when going out in public. No one wants to see a toddler "walk up" to their mother's beast and start suckling. That is kind of weird see.

* Hill's former spokesman faces criminal charges

Oooo, the "boys" in the playpen are going to love him and his impish little smile. Have fun!

* Hill's former spokesman faces criminal charges

Why are we seeing these charges only now? The DA has had plenty of time since taking office to have dealt with this much earlier. Looks like these interesting charges came up once former Sheriff Victor Hill decided to run for office again. I agree with seeking justice but doing it in a timely manner. Something stinks here.

* Businessman Cain enters 2012 GOP presidential race

I like Mr. Cain. However, he does NOT have the track record, professionally and personally that Mr. Paul does. I have NOT DOUBT that Mr. Paul would continue to stick his guns. Ron Paul 2012 Thank You

* Businessman Cain enters 2012 GOP presidential race

Go, Herman Go. Herman Cain would make a great President. Finally someone who understands how to build an ecomony.

* Clayton Police: Lovejoy student gave false statement

Interesting her first choice, when unsure of what to do, was to fabricate a lie and then to perpetuate it. I am curious where she learned that behavior.

* Griffin man convicted of killing baby

To all the believer's whom actually know Joe, thank u for your support! And for those who are making judgement and u don't no him I truly wished u did, u would understand he didn't kill anyone especially a baby...To the precious child who's life was lost, I will pray for u forever and if the Law can't find the real killer always know that GOD will....To everyone who knows how to pray, please pray for all who's involved on both victims families, for the innocent baby who lost his life at 7 months, and for the 31 year old man who's loosing his freedom for something in my heart i truly believe he didn't do..PRAY..

* Hutto, Willie Mae

Jesus promised that "those in the memorial tombs will...come out." (John 5:28, 29) In harmony with God's original purpose, those resurrected as humans will have the opportunity to live on a paradise earth. (Luke 23: 43) This promised future includes perfect health and everlasting for humans. The Bible says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."-Psalm 37:29.

* Harris, Carolyn Fletcher

The hope offered in the Bible is exactly that, namely, to live forever right here on earth. God created the earth for that purpose-to be inhabited in happiness. That is why the Bible says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth,and they will reside forever upon it."-Psalm 37:29; Isaiah 45:18; 65:21-24.

* Dent, Martha Varner

Happily, we can be among those with that grand prospect of living forever. The Bible says, "holds promise not only for this life but for the life to come." That "life to come" is also the life which is life to come." 1 Timothy 4:8; 6:19.

* Laney, Sidney C.

The Bible tells us: "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you." (James 4:8) One of the principal ways to draw close to God is through prayer. Do not underestimate its value! The Bible makes this comforting promise: "Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves." (Psalm 34:18) It also assures us: "Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he himself will sustain you." (Psalm 55:22) Think about this. As we noted earlier, many have found it helpful to talk about their feelings with a trusted friend. Would it not be even more helpful to pour out your feelings to the God who promises to comfort our hearts?

* Elliot, "Bill" Jr.

Jesus said: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." (John 11:25) The Bible teaches that the dead will live again. While Jesus was on earth, he showed that he is able to resurrect the dead. ON one occasion, he resurrected a 12-year-old girl. How did her parents react? They "were beside themselves themselves with great ecstasy." (Mark 5:42) Under the rule of his Kingdom, the heavenly King Jesus Christ will resurrect untold numbers of people to life here on earth-but under peaceful and righteous conditions. (Acts 24:15; 2 Peter 3:13) Imagine the great ecstasy when the dead come back to life and are reunited with their loved ones!

* Familiarity helps North Clayton chose new coach

Congraulation to coach Morrow, for becoming the new head coach at North Clayton. I believe he will do wonderful things for the team and for the school. When he was in Las Vegas, he did just that for the his high school.

* Heatley calls for community support for schools

Heatley wants support??? That is too funny for words. How can he expect support when he takes a $35,000 pay raise when teachers are being furloughed? How can he expect support when every word he has said and every action he has done this year indicates that all he wants is unquestioned authority? Heatley and his Chief Officer in "Human" Resources need to learn how to treat people if they expect to get real support from the ranks. Right now, what they are getting is not true support but just compliance in an attempt to save their jobs during an economic crisis.

* BREAKING NEWS -- SACS lifts accreditation probation for Clayton Schools

This is not about anyone's race. This is about a person's moral character and ethical behavior (or lack thereof in the case of Dr. H.). I have been witness to the ruination of our school system since Heatley came to town. What he has done to the school system and its employees has nothing to do with his race.

* Heatley calls for community support for schools

Although Heatley makes me sick, I am also thoroughly disgusted with Pam Adamson who supports everything that Heatley does. Those of us who have known Pam over the years know that she cannot be trusted and will kiss up to anyone who is in power. How did she get to be the BOE Chairperson? Is she the best we have on the BOE?

* Heatley calls for community support for schools

Then Heatley should return to his former career of Marine drill sargeant. We do not need someone like Heatley as our superintendent. If he is the best that is out there, then we are in major trouble. What kind of superintendent takes a $35,000 "signing bonus" to extend his contract when teachers and others are being furloughed? His actions of late, both personal and professional, speak to the kind of person he is. Our students, our teachers, and our communities deserve so much better.

* Heatley calls for community support for schools

He will take your cash, that's a fact. Just as he rangled to take Fed money back and give furloughs to all,to be carried out in the last 3 weeks of the school year. By-the-way, that caused hundreds of students to be late getting to and from school each and every day. Now we all have to work an extra 5 days ( listening to brilliant minds babble )without pay,after school is over. Here is what Heatley needs to take....A Cab and Get the Heck Out Of Georgia.He can also take a flying leap. Bitter? You bet I am, I have paid for that right.

* Hill's former spokesman faces criminal charges

Ex Sheriff Victor Hill is less than truthful when he says, "he's glad to see justice done." When the truth comes out... and it will. People will see that Hill is a self-absorbed person who rail-roaded a person to cover his own legal shortcomings. Newton's arrest is the results of Hill shopping a warrant around until he found someone who would play ball. Has anyone wondered why a Cobb County Judge threw his Warrant out? If Newton is guilty so is Hill... and a few others. But Newton is not guilty; Hill is the guilty one, using Newton as a Pasty to legitimize his election bid. Election time bring forth strange fruit and bed-fellows. Don't rush to judgment on Jonathan Newton... wait until you SEE and HEAR all of the facts... not just some spoon feed allegations that someone has used to make a name for themselves.

* Hill's former spokesman faces criminal charges

...I thought that Victor Hill had Barred The NEWS-DAILY, when he was Sheriff ? ...How times has changed when promoting a reelection campaign.

* Hill's former spokesman faces criminal charges

...Maybe, now, Victor and Jonathan can restore their friendship again; Hill is being probe by a Special Grand Jury for Campaign Spending.
