Hampton Police arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
The girl's mother contacted police after learning her teenage daughter was pregnant, allegedly by Jamarcus Dewayne Dodson, according to Hampton Detective Art Sparks.
"He took a 15-year-old girl to his house to have sex," said Sparks. "The relationship started toward the end of November 2010, and continued until January 2011, when she found out she was pregnant."
The girl's mother contacted a school resource officer, who alerted police, and officers went to the school, on Monday.
Henry County Sheriff's deputies arrested Dodson, Wednesday, at his West Main Street home, and charged him with statutory rape.
"The accused did engage in sexual intercourse with a female child under the age of 16 years, not his spouse," states Dodson's arrest warrant.
Dodson appeared in Henry County Magistrate Court Thursday, before Judge Robert Godwin. His bond was set at $2,000, and he was released from the Henry County Jail, on Friday.
Detective Sparks said this was not his first encounter with Dodson. He said Dodson was arrested for littering and disorderly conduct in October 2010.
He was also arrested in August 2006, for illegal drug possession under the Georgia Control Substances Act, according to jail records.
