Martha Hough Bunch, age 80, of Jackson, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston. She was born in Grady County, Ga., Feb. 20, 1931, daughter of the late Arthur and Cleo Ellerbee Hough. She attended Mary Persons High School in Forsyth and Crandell Business College. She was employed as a ward clerk at the Monroe County hospital for over 15 years. She was a devoted member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She had an exceptional gift of writing, gardening and was an excellent seamstress. She loved music and playing the guitar. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Phillip Bunch of Jackson; children, Peggy and Charles Blythe of Forsyth, Georgia Hendricks of Port St. Joe, Fla., Luther and Sally Lindsey of Forsyth, Debra and Johnny Phillips of Conyers, Denise and Joe Hodges of Griffin; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Hough, of Melrose, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Friends visited the family Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
