Mr. Kenneth R. Larimer, Sr., of Griffin, formerly of Forest Park, passed away May 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, at 1 p.m., at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. Mr. Larimer served his country as a member of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Larimer; sons, Kenneth R. "Ronnie" Larimer, Jr., (Vickie), of Forest Park, Donnie Larimer (Judi), of Hapeville, and Roger Wayne Larimer, of Griffin; sisters, Pat Brawley, of Enterprise, Ala., Virginia Hart, of Ozark, Ala., and Lois Thompson, of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Ruby Nichols, more affectionally known as "Sue," 77, of McDonough, passed away Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted TODAY (Tuesday, May 10), in the chapel of Horis A. Ward-Fairview Chapel at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Ken Davidson officiating. Cremation will follow at Mrs. Nichols request. She is survived by three daughters, Carol Wallace, Wanda Bowden and Tracey Puerner; one son, James C. Nichols; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Nichols; two sons, Larry and Bobby Nichols, and her parents, William and Evelynn Hughes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11 a.m., untill the hour of the service. Horis A. Mrs. Caroline Platt, 89, of Griffin, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011. She was born in Raritan, N. J., to the late Paul and Caroline Berger Schultz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albert Platt, Jr. Caroline was a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church, and enjoyed sewing and quilting. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charlie (Gail) Platt, of Culloden; grandchildren, Marsha (Brian) Hanson, of Locust Grove, Eric (Dana) Platt, of Barnesville; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Hanson, Jacob Platt, Michael, Keli and Travis Conklin. Memorial services will be conducted Friday, May 13, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.
